Q: Do you think the women were really as foolish in love as they appeared to be with men by the name of Ernest?
A: Yes, I actually do. Though we are never really give a reason why these women are so smitten by men by this name, we do see that they're angry with one another when they hear that the other is to marry Ernest. Their instant friendship fizzles and a cat fight quickly ensues.
Q: Do you think Wilde had ulterior motives with his characters leading double lives?
A: I really can't tell. It's not too uncommon for literature to immitate life. I do think that he was trying to hint at how easy it is for a person to not necessarily decieve someone, but for people to not know someone as deeply as they think they do.
Q: Do you think the alter ego named Ernest is the reason the play was given it's title or was it just a name that was randomly picked?
A: I think it's a fairly obvious play on words and it was cute at the end.
My greatest difficulty was trying to figure out who each person was. If there are too many characters and/or names mentioned in a play, I generally tend to lose track of who's who.
I just liked how silly and carefree the play was. It was light and pleasant and there was depth, but not enough that made it overly serious. There was lots of mischief, which added a relatively cute part whenever it became "intense."

1.) Q: Why did it take Kreon the entire play to understand the error in his thoughts about the burial of Polyneices?
A: I don't think he was the sort of person who thought things through. Much like Antigone, he reminded me of someone who based their thoughts off passionate feelings. He was very adament about not conceeding his feelings for Polyneice's actions until it was too late.
Q If Ismene was to be the wife of Haimon, why did he kill himself over Antigone?
A: I felt that he was simply very against what his father was saying and doing, and that was the ultimate way of letting him know that.
Q: Why did Ismene suddenly have a change of heart and defend Antigone?
A: I felt that Ismene wanted to agree with Antigone all along but simply feared the consequences.
2.) My biggest difficulty with the play was understanding the relationship that each person had with one another. I had to continuously refer to the front part of the play and get a better understanding of how they all related to one another. I just couldn't understand why Kreon wanted his own family to be treated that way.
3.) I liked the passion that each character had for their beliefs, even if I didn't necessarily agree with it.

Intro.
My name is Candace McKeller. I'm a 22-year-old lady living in Indianapolis, practically on the border of Cumberland and Indy. I'm a 5th year student with absolutely no signs of ever getting out of school, and I'm not joking. My mind changes daily and with every semester there's some new job I want to do. This week I'm a history major with a focus in African American Studies. Eventually I want to become an African American historian, possibly even a professor.
Currently I'm a customer service rep at the East Washington Best Buy. I've been doing that for almost three years, and despite the legnth, I hate it. I'm not a people person at all and you'll know this if you ever actually run into me in person.
I'm not a mom, but I'm the aunt of four nephews (2, 4, 9, and 11) and a brand new baby neice (2 weeks old). These children are my life, so when I'm not at school or work, I'm with them.
